You may feel like you have nowhere to turn. You’re worried and anxious because you’re afraid you might go to jail. You could also have a permanent stain on your public record. Or, you might not be able to move past this and get back to how your life was before you faced charges.
Understandably, you might feel incredibly stressed out and above all else, alone.
But you’re not. Our Salt Lake City team, Conyers & Nix, is here to help.
We have wide-range experience defending clients charged with felonies and misdemeanors in District Courts and Justice Courts. Whether you’re already charged with a crime or about to land in legal trouble, we will not only protect your legal rights–we will be your advocate through this difficult and daunting process. We bring extensive experience and effective advocacy to every case to support your individual needs and concerns.
We only practice criminal defense; we have exclusively practiced it for over a decade. We’ve defended thousands of individuals against prosecution and have been successful in achieving the goals of our clients. We don’t just fight for your legal case–we fight for you.
Remember…
Never speak to police without an attorney present. Never! If you are being investigated for a crime, call us immediately! An attorney will speak to the police on your behalf, get more details about the investigation, and then recommend whether a police interview is in your best interest. Often, an interview will not help and will only give police evidence that will help them and hurt you.
Even if you are innocent, talk to us to help you decide whether you should speak with police. If we determine that an interview would be helpful, we will go with you and prevent you from making incriminating statements.
Speaking to police without an attorney doesn’t make you look innocent—it makes you look unprepared, inexperienced, and leaves you vulnerable. Without an attorney, the detective will ask you hard questions, make you look foolish, and frame innocent facts as clues of guilt. The presence of an attorney will keep police on their best behavior.
Questions About Working With Conyers & Nix
What is your typical response time?
We are here when you need us, no matter what. When you send us an email or leave us a voicemail, we’ll get back to you within 24 hours. We know that time is of the essence, which is why we get back to you usually on the same day or within a day at the latest. And when it’s time to go to court, we remind you and make sure you are prepared for the day so that you can hopefully achieve your ideal outcome.
How likely are you to bring my case to trial?
While some lawyers will advise you to plead out and avoid a trial, we take clients to trial as often as we can. Then our clients have a fighting chance of having their charges reduced or dropped. We are aggressive, assertive, and we’ll advocate for you every step of the way.
Will you help me receive a not-guilty verdict?
We cannot promise specific results, but we work hard for not-guilty verdicts. We want you to feel satisfied in your decision to seek out representation with our firm. At the end of the day, we want you to know that we did everything possible to help you.
